ABOUT

Every recruiter says find the hiring manager. No tool actually helped you do it.

Angld closes that gap.

There's a disconnect in how people search for jobs. The advice is clear: targeted outreach to the right person beats sending applications into the void. Recruiters say it. Career coaches say it. LinkedIn influencers won't shut up about it.

The disconnect has a measurable cost. CareerPlug's 2024 study of 10 million applications found that only about 3% of ATS submissions reach an interview (source). Direct outreach to the person making the hiring decision is the only consistent way around that bottleneck. Woodpecker's analysis of 20+ million cold emails showed deeply personalized messages get a 142% higher reply rate than templates.

But the tooling never caught up. Job boards optimize for volume. AI resume tools optimize for ATS scores. Nobody built the thing that helps you figure out who to reach out to and what to say when you do.

That's the gap Angld fills. Paste a job posting. The platform identifies the likely hiring manager, researches their background, finds shared connections or talking points, and drafts personalized outreach. The whole thing takes about three minutes.

I built the first version for myself. I was applying to roles I was genuinely excited about and kept hitting the same bottleneck: the research step. Figuring out who owns a role, what they care about, why they'd want to hear from me — that was taking longer than the application itself. So I wrote something to automate it. When it actually worked, I couldn't stop building.

Angld is what came out of it. Research to outreach, one tool, for people who'd rather spend their time on five quality conversations than fifty blind applications.

How Angld is different

Most AI job-search tools fall into one of three camps: mass-application bots (LazyApply, Sonara, JobRight) that submit your resume to as many ATS systems as possible; application trackers (Teal, Huntr) that organize what you've already submitted; and sales-style contact databases (Apollo, Hunter, ZoomInfo) that hand you a name and a generic template. Angld does none of those. It starts from a single posting you already care about, identifies the actual hiring manager — not the recruiter, not a generic HR inbox — builds a personalization brief from public sources (talks, posts, ship logs, papers), and drafts a message you review and send from your own account. Every research claim is source-cited. The credit is refunded automatically if discovery turns up nothing usable.

Who it's built for

Mid-career and senior professionals targeting specific companies. Career changers who need to make a non-obvious case for fit. Founders, PMs, designers, engineers, biotech, policy, and finance roles — any domain where the hiring decision is made by a specific human whose work is publicly visible. It's deliberately not built for high-volume mass-apply or roles where the decision-maker is genuinely anonymous.

Founder · Angld

I've spent most of my career helping companies spot market gaps and launch new products — first in strategy consulting (Fortune 500 growth, M&A, market entry), then in corporate ventures building and operating new businesses inside large companies. Angld started as a personal tool while I was job-hunting myself: I kept hitting the same bottleneck — the research step before any cold email worth sending — and wrote something to automate it. When it actually worked, I couldn't stop building. Sole founder. Based in Boulder, Colorado. You can reach me directly at dima@angld.ai; I read everything.
